The Boeing CompanyThe Customer Engineering team is seeking a 737 Chief Customer Engineer Senior Manager (Level L) to lead, inspire and energize a team of customer engineers, technical specialists, and first level managers. As authorized holders of the Customer contractual configuration, the team’s mission is to leverage Engineering Excellence and curated experiences to architect program approved solutions that exceed our Customer’s aspirations, drive a preference for Boeing products, while protecting our production system so that we can meet our commitments. The position requires onsite presence primarily in Renton, WA and some onsite work in Everett for functional alignment activities. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead our efforts in enhancing the 737 customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the 737 customer base and a strong understanding of the product, including the impact of changes on the value stream. You will leverage your cross-functional integration experience and customer introduction skills to foster collaboration and drive results. Familiarity with the certification and type validation process is essential, as is the ability to influence program leaders and customers effectively.
With a proven track record of leading technical discussions and articulating complex issues, you will develop innovative solutions that meet our customers' needs. As an experienced leader, translating strategy into actionable plans is required, along with the ability to balance short-term tactical goals, such as airplane deliveries, with long-term strategic initiatives like sales campaigns and new features.

Position Responsibilities:
Partner with Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT), Program Integrated Product Team (IPT) leaders, Sales & Marketing, and Business Operations to provide airline customers with program approved integrated solutions that meet our customer’s needs, while protecting both the engineering teams and the production system.
Articulate the Airline customer’s needs and perspective to internal stakeholders, providing business context for the requests and offering proposed solutions that meet both customer’s needs and production capability.
Lead a multidisciplinary team and integrate knowledge of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products to effectively perform functional responsibilities of the occupation.
Full value stream focus from new airplane sales and feature development to airplane delivery.
Develop and communicate team priorities to make our airline customer wildly successful with our products.
Acquire resources for projects while performing to the business plan.
Drive development and execution of project and process plans.
Provide technical management and oversight across the team, and champion the Boeing Safety Management System.
Partner with ALIT and IPT leaders to improve Customer Introduction implementations – including reducing Customer Introduction hours and increased engineering re-use.
Lead continuous culture improvement to increase employee engagement, development, and productivity.
Leverage Airplane Recurring Risk Reduction (ARRR) process to articulate, communicate, and manage customer and configuration risks, opportunities and issues to the program.
Co-lead Future Customer Introduction Strategy (FCIS) with Business Operations and ALIT.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Renton, WA.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement Experience with airplane deliveries and the production system
4+ years of Engineering management experience
4+ years of experience directly interfacing with Airline Customers
4+ years Engineering experience leading the definition and coordination of Airline customer’s technical configuration requirements
3+ years of experience working with Airlines and the Delivery Centers during the airplane delivery process
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience and certification in Safe Agile Framework (SAFe)
MBA or equivalent
Experience in a systems engineering background leading discussions with Airline customers
Experience leading a cross-functional or cross-organizational team through a complex project or initiative that resulted in operational change
Experience working with and/or coordinating across engineering disciplines to identify good/best practices and implement on multiple programs
Understanding of Sales, Marketing, and Aircraft Contracts function and their role in the business acquisition process
