Job Title- Configuration Supervisor Engineer

Reports to: Product Engineering Manager

Work Schedule- M-F 9/80 Schedule

Work Location- On-site Logan, UT


At Spartronics, the Configuration Supervisor Engineer supervises the daily operational responsibilities of the Configuration Technicians. Ensure that specific configurations involved in the manufacturing processes are reliable and effective. Assist in bill of material creation and determination of components that require secondary operations for use in manufacturing processes. Develop component configuration management for turn-key and consigned components. 


Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise and oversee the daily operational responsibilities of the Configuration Technicians including priorities and workloads.
  • Perform component analysis and classification.
  • Evaluate electronic component secondary process development and configuration.
  • Perform non-compliant component root cause analysis and disposition.
  • Provide internal and external customer support.
  • Investigate and implement new technology and techniques to improve production, reduce cost and increase efficiency.
  • Provide support to Product Engineering by performing component research and evaluating component life cycle.
  • Monitor, identify, and resolve all lifecycle issues associated with obsolete components and supplies, perform component level tests, and perform various experiments on components.
  • Ensure compliance to required standards and customer requirements.
  • Review and interpret component data sheets and evaluate all components for various product applications.
  • Manage communications with manufacturers and distributors on supplied components.
  • Authorizes engineering change orders written against components and specifications.
  • Completes lead free finish documentation and specification.
  • Establishes standard titles for components.
Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years related work experience.
  • Experience with of Counterfeit Avoidance, Tin Whisker Mitigation, RoHS, and REACH.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of engineering practices regarding electronics manufacturing.
  • Employs standard practices/procedures to develop solutions for engineering issues.
  • Exercises level failure analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Utilizes strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Commands moderate level computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD.
  • Understands and applies conflict resolution strategies effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities at the same time.
  • Understanding customer document packages to establish multi-level bills of materials for assemblies of electrical components and manufacturing materials.
  • Knowledge of quality standards/quality notes for electrical components.
  • Experience with SiliconExpert and Arena software preferred.
