Our Environmental Remediation and Due Diligence team has an outstanding opportunity for a technical and strategic leader and problem solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. We are seeking an Environmental Due Diligence Senior Manager to lead the Due Diligence program and a team of project managers. This position is based in Seal Beach, CA and a minimum of three days per week in-office is required.

Our Environmental Due Diligence team partners with multiple organizations within Boeing, including Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Global Services (BGS), and functional partners including Global Real Estate, Corporate Development, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), and Legal. This role involves effective leadership, technical competency, and collaboration and relationship management with stakeholders across these multiple organizations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees that are responsible for project management and execution of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) due diligence reviews in support of real property transactions and corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.  This includes employee development processes, annual performance reviews, succession planning, and compensation review processes

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers, implements policies and procedures, and leads process improvements

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes and supports identification, quantification, and communication of EHS risks, opportunities, and sustainability requirements for EHS due diligence reviews in support of real property transactions and corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures

  • Develops risk mitigation strategies and advises senior leadership on critical decisions.  Obtains executive and functional approval of deal records

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, business partners (including senior leadership) and direct reports

  • Develops/manages budgets, team workload and schedules and provides financial and project and program status reviews to senior management

  • Applies knowledge of project and program management best practices to cost and schedule accuracy and risk management to ensure that the technical integrity and business goals are achieved

  • Manages specific projects, in addition to overseeing all other projects and program elements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Technical bachelor’s degree or higher (a technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study)

  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing a team

  • 5+ years of experience identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and communicating environment, health and safety risks associated with real property or business transactions

  • 5+ years of experience developing & delivering presentations to senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)

  • Experience conducting or evaluating Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) due diligence reviews, including All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) and ASTM 1527 and 1528

  • Experience in directing and evaluating supplier activities for Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments and other scopes of work of commercial and industrial sites

  • Strong leadership skills including leading diverse teams of technical experts, consensus building and decision making on complex regulatory/technical matters, and coordination with other internal and external parties

  • Experience with planning project budgets, and monitoring and communicating financial performance

  • Willingness and capability to manage ambiguity and turn it into action
