Job Title: General Manager (Accountable Manager)

Department: Elevate MRO

Reports to: President, Elevate MRO

Location: Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), Salt Lake City, UT

Summary of Position

The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance operations at Elevate MRO including ensuring established KPI and goals are met, holding team members accountable by using measurable outcomes and working in conjunction with leadership to establish additional metrics to measure the success of the team.

You will also hold the role ofAccountable Manager, and be the person designated by the certificated repair station who is responsible for and has authority over all repair station operations conducted under FAR Part 145, ensuring all repair station personnel follow the applicable FAA regulations, and serves as the primary contact with the FAA. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures repair station personnel perform inspections, maintenance, repair, and/or modification of customer aircraft and articles in an airworthy manner and in compliance with manufacturer's maintenance instructions and/or other approved data, the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (Parts 43, 65, 145, etc.). 
  • Ensures that all employees follow the company’s prescribed safety, quality, and security practices in the performance of their duties.
  • Manage expenses, including labor and overtime costs against the repair station budget  to ensure compliance and profitability. 
  • Serves as the primary customer-facing contact point, coordinating with the Elevate MRO sales team to ensure customer service, including daily communication, on-time delivery performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Oversees production including the sales pipeline management, pre-production planning, in-progress production control, and delivery performance while maintaining cost controls and alignment with clients and vendors.
  • Oversees procurement of material and parts inventory.
  • Reviews qualifications and training of all repair station personnel and determines the need for training and advises them of additional training requirements which they should meet. Arrange for and schedule on-the-job or formal training, as required. 
  • Assign and train maintenance personnel in Repair Station and Quality Control Manual procedures. Maintains up-to-date training records of all personnel. 
  • Duties and responsibilities contained herein may be delegated, but such delegation does not relieve the General Manager of overall responsibility.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned and/or outlined by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of FAA Parts 135 and 145 regulations and compliance with the same.
  • Customer Service: Manages difficult or emotional customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance, and meets commitments. 
  • Interpersonal Skills: Focuses on solving conflict through positive collaboration, maintains confidentiality, keeps emotions under control, remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things.

Education & Experience

  • Must possess a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant license.
  • High School diploma and related college education or professional experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory or management experience in a MRO or Aviation Service Center environment.
  • Familiarity with various computer software systems required.  EBIS and CAMP experience is a plus.

Schedule & Travel

  • Work schedule is driven by customer requirements and schedules; however, the typical work schedule includes five 8-hour workdays weekly with the potential for after-hours and weekend requirements inherent to the aviation industry.
  • Overtime, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays may be required to support customer delivery schedules and AOG support.
  • Multi-day domestic and international on-site customer support trips may be required. But not regularly scheduled.

Miscellaneous

  • FLSA Status: Full time exempt.
  • Lifting requirements: up to 50lbs. 
  • Valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license is required.
