Job Description

The Inventory Control Supervisor leads all property and shipping/receiving operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across SEAKR’s aerospace programs.

This role oversees a team responsible for inventory control, property administration, and shipping/receiving, ensuring compliance with FAR and internal policies for government and customer property. The Supervisor partners closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Program Management to maintain accurate records, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement in material accountability and flow.

This position reports to the Manager of Property and Material Planning and plays a key leadership role in developing people, optimizing processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Property Administrators and a Shipping/Receiving Clerk.
  • Provide daily direction, performance feedback, training, and mentoring.
  • Build a culture focused on accuracy, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support career development.

Inventory & Property Management

  • Lead all aspects of inventory control — including receiving, storing, kitting, and issuing materials.
  • Maintain accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, and root cause analysis of variances.
  • Oversee management of government- and customer-owned property in compliance with FAR 45.0 / 52.245.
  • Ensure all property is properly tagged, recorded, and safeguarded.
  • Develop and maintain written procedures and work instructions for inventory and property functions.

Shipping & Receiving Oversight

  • Supervise the shipping and receiving process, ensuring on-time, compliant, and accurate material movement.
  • Verify documentation and packaging meet customer, export, and government standards.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Program Management for incoming and outgoing material control.
  • Monitor and continuously improve shipping/receiving efficiency and compliance.

Compliance, Audits & Reporting

  • Prepare and submit required government property reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Lead and coordinate property audits — internal, customer, and government.
  • Ensure full audit readiness and documentation accuracy at all times.
  • Support resolution of any audit findings and corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing to improve material flow and visibility.
  • Collaborate with IT and ERP support teams to enhance system functionality and data accuracy.
  • Participate in Lean, 5S, and process improvement initiatives.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Manage ERP/inventory system utilization for all property and inventory management functions.
  • Support system enhancements, testing, and implementation.
  • Analyze data trends to identify and implement process improvements in efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory, property, or materials management (aerospace or defense preferred).
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of FAR 45 / 52.245 and government property administration.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve processes, and maintain accuracy in fast-paced environments.

Preferred

  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with export compliance and shipping regulations.
  • APICS, CPIM, or other supply chain certification.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Additional Information

Compensation: Base pay range is $80,000- 110,000 depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
