We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Support Specialist this role will sit at the South East Asia location but be a part of the larger IT team at the parent organization InTest Corporation.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, networking, helpdesk, Power BI, and Cyber Security. This role requires a hands-on role who can coordinate and execute IT initiatives and manage IT infrastructure to support business growth and efficiency, all while maintaining strong information security practices. This role is primarily based out of our Penang facility with a hybrid remote schedule after training and onboarding. 

  

Job Overview

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the efficient operation, security, and support of the organization’s IT systems and network infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical support, network administration, project management, and compliance oversight. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the company’s network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Install, configure, and maintain networking hardware and software
  • Working with and implementing the policies/processes of the corporate organization
  • Ensure system security, data protection, and network reliability through appropriate backup systems, firewalls, and monitoring      tools.
  • Manage the IT helpdesk, provide support for internal users, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to      hardware, software, and networking, and implement best practices for end-user support, ensuring timely responses and issue resolution
  • Continuously assess the organization’s IT needs, recommending technology solutions and improvements to optimize business performance.
Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 
  • 5+ years of experience in a senor IT level position 
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, etc.).
  • Experience with, NIST & privacy laws a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as Cisco (CCNA), Microsoft (MCSA), CompTIA (Network+), or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence (BI) tools or data analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
  • Additional security certifications such as CISSP,  CISM, or similar are a plus.
  • Fluency in English 

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to support projects and troubleshooting
  • Occasional travel may be required.
