Job overview and responsibilities
The Manager of Base Maintenance Materials Operations oversees a team of Controllers embedded in United’s heavy maintenance operation. The team is responsible for planning and fulfillment of all routine heavy check materials and sourcing and expediting of urgent non-routine material requests. The Manager is responsible for daily management and oversight of the United heavy maintenance materials operation, focusing on key department metrics to make time critical operational decisions. The Manager is a team leader that works with their Controllers daily to ensure they are equipped and focused on solving complex materials operational challenges to ensure best in industry materials delivery performance.
- Manage Controllers to include attendance reporting, scheduling, evaluating and assisting in selecting and completing achievable goals
- Create, manage and maintain procedures to standardize the job functions, to include evaluating current team and company procedures to determine and implement the most efficient/effective business processes.
- Create and manage departmental projects and goals that will result in a bottom-line cost savings/avoidance and handle any new project start-ups
- Review current procedures and trends with heavy maintenance station management and facilitate changes if/as needed in order to streamline the future operation
- Work with Stores and Planning regarding material management processes and issues that are affecting the department based on fleet types reflected in the current and future hangar plans
- Perform all functions of the Base Maintenance Material Controller in the event of a short staffing situation for any given heavy maintenance station

• Bachelor's degree in Business, technical, aviation or related discipline
• Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain operations and Management
• 6+ Years of relevant work experience
• 2+ Years as a team leader
• Strong Leadership, coaching and communication skills
• Microsoft Office Proficient
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
• Master's degree in Supply Chain or Engineering
• 4+ years as a team leader
• Strong knowledge of SQL or equivalent programming language
• Aircraft Heavy Maintenance experience
