The Material Planner will be responsible for planning material requirements and scheduling materials to support Manufacturing requirements to ensure on time delivery. Other responsibilities will include analyzing data and supplying material status to the organization and partnering with the supervisor to work cross-functionally. Although there will be no direct supervisory responsibilities, the Production Planner may still be required to direct workflow through written and verbal communication to other members of the team. The Production Planner will have duties including compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production concerns.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Issue individual production orders as work is scheduled.
Follow orders through production to completion to ensure customer needs are met.
Work closely with purchasing to assure materials are procured to support production schedules.
Monitor design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions to update ship schedules and collaborate with management, sales, production, and engineering.
Keep the assembly department stocked with the appropriate parts and materials to meet the production schedule.
Coordinate and expedite flow of all parts and materials between shop machine shop, plating, outside processes, assembly, inspection, and shipping department.
Release parts for outside processing as required by the production schedule.
Work closely with operations to assure that all production schedules and deliveries are met and notify of any deviation from schedule.
Employ principals of LEAN Manufacturing to flow product through the various work cells.
Work with production leadership and manufacturing engineering to design and support improved methods of product flow.
Assist in the full employment of the APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) module as a planning tool.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
BS degree preferred or equivalent related job experience.
Proven experience as a production or materials planner preferred.
Experience with an ERP or MRP system preferred.
Excellent computational skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Must be proficient in operation of a computer and using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong excel skills are required, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
Ability to work well within a team environment with strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience working with LEAN manufacturing tools to reduce waste and maximize the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
