Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SIWS) is seeking a Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager to manage a team of highly skilled engineers supporting the International Space Station (ISS) Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLS) in Houston, TX.

The team manages extremely critical hardware essential to the sustainment of the ISS across multiple subsystems, requires coordination with multiple internal and external customers, and supports engineering products throughout various stages of the engineering product life cycle.  The prime role for this position is focused on the sustainment of the ISS program.  The position is also responsible for real-time mission support of the Mission Engineering Room during Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) meetings, Anomaly Resolution, and other various on-orbit activities.  This position does manage some work and resources in Huntsville, AL and travel to Huntsville or Kennedy Space Center (KSC), FL may be required from time to time.  Finally, there are several Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that support the ECLS subsystem subcontractors, including management and oversight activities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
• Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
• Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
• Manages, develops, and motivates employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $139,400 - $188,600
