QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ANALYST to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The selected candidate will support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing and verification, and assessment. This position requires an analyst to support the development of modeling and simulation of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) systems. This includes analyzing, benchmarking, validation and verification, documenting, and integrating simulation products.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Researching technical details related to various missile defense systems to better support model creation and enhancement
  • Analyzing new capabilities, documenting new features, and analyzing simulation performance
  • Working with the product and development teams, as well as external users and customers to determine acceptance criteria for new feature
  • Creating software tools to support analysis of benchmarking, anchoring, and verification and validation activities
  • Creating V&V documentation
  • Supporting the modeling and simulation of missile defense systems
  • Supporting agile software team within the context of a larger team
  • Supporting the development of simulation and software architectures
  • Interfacing with customers to provide technical support and helping resolve issues
  • Presenting technical briefings to stakeholders

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and at least 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices
  • Understanding of software development and Linux platforms
  • Experience with C++ or Java source code
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar analysis software
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in modeling and simulation
  • Experience with OPIR system simulations
  • Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Knowledge/experience in SQL queries
  • Experience with large code base M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform
  • Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation development
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, confluence, and GIT

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Salary Range

The below salary range represents a general guideline; however, QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Salary Range: $80,000 โ€“ $120,000
