Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Senior Liaison Engineering Manager to lead integrated groups of supervisors, engineers and technical staff for Liaison Engineering, in support of Boeing operations in Puget Sound, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provide higher Material Review Board (MRB) functions.
  • Interface with Operations, Quality, Engineering, airline representatives, regulatory agencies and suppliers/partners to resolve issues impacting airplane build, test and delivery.
  • Staff and direct a technical team in establishing and executing group goals.
  • Manage budgets.
  • Monitor group performance against program and functional commitments and developing technical employees within the group.
  • Work with peer Senior Managers in the development of first line managers and the Liaison Engineering Skill as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a leader or manager in engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing technical leadership for an engineering team
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Liaison Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with external customers, and cross-functional value stream stakeholders to resolve complex issues

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in a leadership role leading teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change
  • Experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
  • Strong knowledge of build integration processes
  • Strong knowledge and background in Liaison Engineering/Material Review Board and related certification activities
  • Sustaining program experience
  • Highly strategic with a demonstrated ability to lead change and transformation
  • Experience managing an engineering team performing activities within multiple engineering disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Material Review Boards (MRB) signature authority or equivalent in a Commercial or Defense based program
