About the Role:

Chart the Course for Our Ground Operations at RDU!

Ready to pilot a critical piece of RDU’s future? We’re looking for a seasoned leader to take the controls of our ground transportation and rental car programs. Working closely with the SVP & Chief Revenue Officer, VP of Commercial Management, and the entire Commercial Management Division, you’ll help map out and navigate strategies that drive revenue, build new facilities, and deliver a first-class experience for every traveler.

As our ground transportation captain, you’ll be the Authority’s expert in everything from rental car partnerships to rideshares and peer-to-peer services, ensuring smooth landings for both our guests and business partners. Compensation:

• Maximum – Based on experience
• Minimum - $125,700.84

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as the commercial liaison to airport executives, planners and corporate representatives regarding ground transportation and rental car facility programs. Significant level of interaction and coordination with senior airport executives to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate capital intensive facility projects and other Authority tactical or strategic projects for all ground transportation modes and rental cars.
• Serve as project manager leading major rental car facility improvement and development projects.
• Lead the day-to-day operations for a portfolio of airport ground transportation programs including permits, leases, billing, fleet inspection, facility inspection, and compliance.
• Monitor financial performance and trends to develop strategic and business initiatives related to rental cars, transportation network companies (TNC), peer-to-peer car sharing, and other commercial ground transportation services, as well as other commercial management projects and responsibilities as assigned.
• Represent the airport in negotiating concession and other agreements covering ground transportation operations of substantial complexity and impact to the traveling public.
• Prepare annual operating and revenue budget recommendations for the functional area.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and provide ongoing feedback to team members to support their professional growth and development.

What You Need:

Education:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management or related field OR equivalent related work experience.

Experience:

Required:

• 5 or more years of experience in airport commercial management, rental car company management/revenue development, or managing a transportation network company or comparable passenger transportation fleet operation

Preferred:

• Airport experience managing or coordinating ground transportation operations preferred.
• Previous experience with direct supervision of employees.

 Licenses or Certifications:

Required:

• Valid NC Driver’s License

Preferred:

• Member of a national airport management association such as the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), Airports Council International (ACI) – North America, or the Airport Ground Transportation Association (AGTA).

Typical Work Hours: 

• Monday - Friday
• Some flexibility is available regarding the work schedule between the hours of: 7 am - 6 pm, possible work-from-home Fridays. Work hours outside of the traditional schedule may be required occasionally. Final schedule preference will be negotiated with the manager during the hiring process.
