Boeing is seeking a Senior Manager - State and Local Government Operations - to join our Government Affairs team in Arlington, VA. This team contributes to public policy development for the company and is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and engaged professional to serve as a valuable contributor toward our legislative and regulatory goals.

The selected candidate will manage state and local government relations activities for Boeing in the Eastern Region for Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Ohio. This position requires detailed knowledge of and relationships with government and community leaders in the greater Washington, DC region focusing mostly in Northern Virginia.  The duties include building strong relationships with elected officials and staff, civic and trade associations, business and nonprofit leaders, and the general public.

For other areas around the state, the candidate will also develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal executives and external partners including community leaders, state and local elected officials, and local representatives from congressional district offices.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and implements campaigns to advocate the Company's business interests, including the analysis of laws and regulations and coordination with government/industry officials and agencies

  • Plans and leads political and community organizing activities for Boeing

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures

  • Provides oversight and approval of government relations activities and processes

  • Provides oversight of government operations activities and processes within the region and suggests improvements as necessary

  • Develops and executes regional legislative plans and develops business cases to support continuation of programs, projects and processes

  • Develops close relationships with our Boeing Global Engagement team in order to leverage community impact

  • Represents the company as directed across the region, including in public settings (e.g., Boeing-sponsored community events)

  • Supports company policies regarding ethical behavior, security, time charging and use of company property

  • Develops strong working relationships with state and local elected officials in the region

  • Supports the needs of Boeing facilities and property

  • Ability to travel and work inconsistent hours

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 5+ years' experience in government relations or a related field

  • 5+ years' experience in Politics, Campaigns, Public affairs and/or issue advocacy

  • 5+ years' experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment

  • 5+ years' experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong passion for politics, public policy, political science, or related fields

Summary pay range: $191,250-$258,750
