Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager (Level L), Chief of Staff (COS), reporting to the Vice President of Intelligence Systems to join our dynamic team in Arlington, VA.

As the Chief of Staff, you will gain experience in developing and executing the Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) Intelligence Systems business and market strategies, running the business from an operational perspective, building relationships with internal and external senior leaders and customers, driving corporate-level projects and activities and leading change.

This position requires strong leadership, communication, collaboration and organization skills, as well as the ability to build effective, trusting business relationships. Demonstrated leadership and a positive and flexible attitude is critical to success in this position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers performing business management activities in the area of Program Management.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist Vice President in achieving the business objectives including: organizing the team, driving required change and initiatives, and program execution
  • Review and evaluate strategic organizational focus and priorities, identify and recommend optimization opportunities and assist in the implementation of said recommendations
  • Provide interface with Space Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) to help set priorities, facilitate information flow and help with alignment of the organizations and their business objectives 
  • Define and execute the operating rhythm and facilitate meetings according to the operating rhythm while closely coordinating with other organizations, such as SI&WS and Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)
  • Lead the design, logistics and facilitation of large meetings/events; develop and consolidate executive level briefings; monitor and track actions, project and initiative execution and communicate status
  • Prepare for and coordinate key internal leadership meetings as well as visits with external high-level customers, and local, state and national legislative visitors
  • Facilitate communications and actions between senior leadership staff and Boeing program leadership and organizations; ensure organizational alignment with processes and compliance requirements; provides guidance to and solicit feedback from program staff for consolidated reporting to SI&WS, BDS and Boeing Corporate
  • Support the Vice President and Leadership Team execution, communication and customer engagement
  • Prepare high level briefings for internal and external customers
  • Work special assignments and projects as directed by the Vice President
  • Provide proactive coordination across the leadership teams, provide strategic project management and support operational efficiency for the organization

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Active US Top Secret Clearance (or higher), or the ability to obtain a US Top Secret clearance
  • More than 5 years of experience with execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and technical baseline requirements are met

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience performing in a leadership role
  • More than 10 years of experience with execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and technical baseline requirements are met
  • More than 10 years of experience leading cross-functional and/or project teams

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel: Position may require travel up to 25% - 50% of the time including local travel.

Summary pay range: $192,950 - $261,050
