Job overview and responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location ensuring these activities are performed in a safe manner in accordance with schedule requirements and in compliance with all established company, regulatory and manufacturers procedures
  • Leads and assign work team and related personnel to meet company and customer requirements, goals, and objectives
  • Adheres to all applicable collective bargaining agreements (CBA), ensures their team has the appropriate resources available and holds them accountable for the work assigned/performed
  • Provide leadership and direction to on shift labor workforce to maximize productivity and output whilst ensuring necessary resources are available
  • Build / reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA work rules and company policies
  • Execute station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, safety and human resource related performance objectives
  • Implement and sustainment of continuous improvement activities and oversee safety and security of work group operations to ensure regulatory compliance of technical operations activities
  • Maintain a high level of communication with employee groups within the work group
  • Report status of operations, highlighting significant events to leadership whilst providing direction to assigned personnel to ensure shop and divisional objectives are achieved

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid FAA A&P License
  • 2+ years engine and/or machine maintenance experience or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of engine overhaul or maintenance processes
  • Communication skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree / master's in aviation technology, Management, Engineering, Business or Physical Sciences
  • 5 years in a leadership role within an engine maintenance organization leading unionized labor
  • Background and technical knowledge of United Technical Operations engines and piece part repair processes
