The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Weights & Mass Properties Engineering Manager to join the BDS Air Dominance Flight Systems capability team located in Berkeley or St. Charles, MO.
The manager in this position will lead teams supporting multiple BDS programs at the site, to include F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, missile and weapons programs, and a lab. Additionally, this position requires coordination and collaboration with other weight and mass property managers at the site and across the enterprise.
This position will report to a BDS Flight Engineering Senior Manager and will include additional responsibilities in the areas of Talent Management, Design Practices, Tools & Processes, Model Based Engineering (MBE), and Technical Excellence.
Position Responsibilities
Leads, develops, and motivates employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Weights and Mass Properties Engineering.
Develops and executes integrated plans, manages risks, and implements policies and procedures.
Leads talent acquisition activities to effectively staff future work scope.
Leads employee development and engagement to support career growth, retention objectives, recognition and empowerment.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
Develop and implement methods to avoid and resolve complex technical issues that require a high level of ingenuity and innovation.
Work directly with program finance and scheduling as a cost account manager (CAM).
Position may require occasional travel.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Berkeley or St. Charles site in St. Louis, MO.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor, master or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
5+ years of experience providing product development and technical support to other groups, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
2+ years of experience leading engineering teams or projects in a formal or informal leadership role.
